Hey, I am Abdut Ghiya – an airline pilot based in India, devoted husband and a father with a passion for adventure and exploration. This platform serves as a way to document and share the reflection of my life experiences, providing unfiltered insights straight from the heart, and maybe just a way to give back to the world.
My aviation journey started off with initial pilot training in South Africa, where I subsequently decided to take on the role of an instructor. Later I moved to the Philippines, where I continued my career as a flight instructor and a freelance pilot before returning back home to India to join a prominent airline.
I have always been someone who has loved to travel and explore new experiences from an extremely young age and today I embark on those adventures with my wife and child.
Loaded with over a decade of experience along with some know-how in the aviation industry and a stockpile of travel stories, I have decided to document the highs, lows and complexities of my journey.
So, Why should you listen to me?
I have been in the aviation industry for over a decade, flown out of 3 countries and have over 4000 hours of flight time. During this time I have had the pleasure of teaching people from multiple countries and working alongside very talented professionals and learning from them along the way.
Today I am flying the ATR 72-600 with the largest airline in India as a Senior First Officer.
During this time I have also travelled extensively, and have picked up some tips and tricks along the way. There have been plenty of mistakes made and that is why I am documenting everything here as a way to guide you and help you make the best decisions based on my insights.
